From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group enter locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight players to round up the Questers and Planners tables.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
